Is American makeup toxic? Honestly, I have no idea – but when I found out the EU banned an extra 1,317 potentially harmful ingredients from being used in cosmetics, I decided to give one of their beauty lines a try. Read on to see which French makeup brand I tried, how it turned out, and my final thoughts; Is Parisian makeup better?
Makeup Meets Skincare
I have never been a big makeup person and usually just moisturize then use the basics. However, lately I have noticed a lot of cosmetic brands that are packed with active ingredients for longterm skincare. I’ve been looking for a tinted makeup line that also has skincare for awhile and when I found out all the Parisian brands are held to a higher standard than our American lines; I decided to start the hunt for a cosmetic brand in the EU. After much ado, I decided on: Typology.
A Magical Trifecta
I’m loving these three. I was looking for a tinted moisturizer with skincare and these three more than fit the bill. I like to put a dab of the 9 ingredient moisturizer on my palm then one or two glow drops, mix, and apply all over my face. Next, I go in with a few drops of the tinted serum and that’s step one! Super easy and filled with vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, & aloe vera!
Step Two
Next I go in with tiny dots of tinted concealer in any spots that need it. I love this one because it’s full of caffeine, niacinamide, & cornflower hydrolate to reduce puffiness/dark circles instantly and long term. I went with shade: type 2/light. Honestly, I could have probably gone a shade lighter; but I think either would work for my complexion.
Final Step
The last step is a simple pop of vitamin E infused lip oil! I like both colors but find myself favoring the plum shade. Both are subtle, glossy, and not sticky. There are five colors to choose from including a natural tint free gloss.
Freebies
I was sent two freebies with my purchase: a leave in conditioner with argan oil and an organic cornflower hydrolate. I’m really loving the conditioner & have been using it every Sunday for a deep condition. I’ve been using the hydrolate almost every evening as well and love that it’s a rich antioxidant.
